Bristol Yacht Club launches second year of junior sailing
Eighty-one youngsters enroll in Bristol Yacht Club junior sailing programs across three classes, with ten Mercury class sloops leased from Bristol Boatyard. The second season includes a Friday Barrington newcomer course, drawing ten from Rumford Providence Pawtucket and Tiverton. Bristol townsfolk mostly fill the 51 local slots, with classes at 9:30 a.m. and open meetings debated for organizational rules.

Bristol Yacht Club Regatta Inspires Summer Sail Training
Sailors in a summer training program sail daily at the yacht club harbor with instructors aboard outboards. They will join the Bristol regatta July 27 28 and a group sail on large Bristol boats. The course ends in August with an awards dinner at the yacht club. Advanced skippers may race Mercuries weekends. Mooring Rules Go to Council for Bristol Town
The harbor commission approved five section mooring rules for Rockwell Park to become a town ordinance. Annual fees are 15 dollars for residents and 25 dollars for non residents with a May 15 start and a 12 month rental. Residents have a 30 day May 13 priority period. Non residents apply after that date. Boat owners must remove vessels during hurricane warnings. the Harbormaster may hire help and charge the owner. Removal of gear by non owners is prohibited.
