Independence Day parade and fireworks in Bristol reflect civic pride
The parade featured a newly commissioned 500 gallon pumper from U S Rubber Co and six bands. Commodore Paul C Theiss spoke at patriotic exercises praising unity and recalling Iwo Jima. The U S Rubber beat Collins and Aikman 12 10 in a Two Flight League game as hundreds watched fireworks display on the Common ending with Old Glory.
