Bristol school department expands defense training enrollment
Superintendent Elmer S. Mapes reported 37 students enrolled in the machine shop and blue printing courses at Andrews School, seven more than expected. Carpentry and welding were cut due to low numbers, with Ian M. Walker and Stannard B. Sylvia teaching evenings for blue print reading and machine shop, all students currently employed in national defense work and funded by the Federal government.
