Lester Gordon of Norwich paid a $20 fine and costs after pleading note to stealing a rowboat owned by Herreshoff Manufacturing. Michael Ascoli paid $10 costs for speeding on Wood Street. Walter Metcalf, 13, won the Most Popular Boy contest run by the Bristol Boy Scouts of America. He received a bicycle from Lieut Harold I June after a parade in front of the courthouse on High street. A guard of honor formed as scouts cheered for June and the awardee. Walter belongs to Troop 5 and is part of the newly organized Kearnes Sea Scouts.

During a Sunday evening electrical storm the home of Mr and Mrs Robert Gray on Diman Avenue was struck by lightning at about ten. The bolt hit an antenna wire then the chimney, loosening bricks and tearing off ridgeboard. It knocked out the radio electric lights and telephone.
