Officers from the 13th Infantry at Fort Adams will recruit in Bristol tomorrow afternoon. They will interview applicants at the Bristol County courthouse from 10 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Eligible men aged 18 to 35 may apply. those under 21 need parental consent. Applicants must meet height and weight standards, be healthy, and be U.S. citizens or have declared intent. Those accepted will go to Fort Adams for tests and swearing in.

Tercentenary Ball Preparations Underway in Bristol
Preparations are rapid for the Tercentenary Ball on Friday July 10 at the Bristol Casino under the Fourth of July Committee. Mrs Alice McHugh Coughlan chairs the event and distributed tickets to committee members. Mrs J H Toplin will handle booth reservations. The goal is to net at least 100 dollars for the Fourth of July Fund. Bristol Casino management donated the venue, and a committee meeting is set for next Wednesday evening at the Belvedere to finalize plans.

O Donnell Continues Drive Against Auto Law Offender
Judge William T O'Donnell in Fifth District court yesterday imposed fines on four motor vehicle violators. Andrade and Lucido each faced two charges and total fines of 67.60. Lucido's crash on Ferry road led to improper registration findings and charges. Other defendants included Blackwood for operating without a license and DiMederios for driving an unlicensed car. The docket also covered shellfishing charges and several civil cases with continuances and rulings.
