St Michael's Bazaar Showcases Oriental Loan Exhibit

St Michael's Church hosts an Oriental Loan Exhibit in the chapel and a bazaar at Holmes House, with three to eight p m hours today and tomorrow. The display features an ostrich feathered robe, Chinese tapestries, Ming portraits, Turkish rugs, and items from India, China, and the Orient loaned by local families and collectors.

Bristol Fourth of July celebration despite rain delights crowds

Bristol hosted a festive Independence Day program with a long parade and firemen hose reel contests. The Narragansett Veteran Firemen’s Association led by engine Washington No 1 won first prize and $150, while a drizzling morning rain gave way to clear skies as the procession moved along a smooth tarma cadam route with bands, drum corps, and police units receiving hearty applause.
