It highlights low prices, reliable goods, and fashion ideas like lace collarettes and cycle bow ties, with men’s neckwear also attractively priced.
The Bristol observed Glorious Fourth featured nine uniformed groups three bands and a large parade along High street with crowds lining the route. Chief Marshal Chase and aides led a vivid display with artillery salutes and a noon bell ringing shaping a memorable Independence Day in the town.
A grand July Fourth procession featured Turrp Division King Philip Steam Engine Co No 1 with 24 men led by Foreman John Norris and Dreadnaught Hook Ladder Co No 1 with 20 men and Foreman WwaA Rawson. The route moved through Main streets to the Opera House where a full house heard Rev A W Kingsley and others, with decorations and a Middleborough band present.
