War Brides Celebrate Fourth of July in Bristol
Four Bristol war brides from Belgium, Ukraine, and Portugal express joy at the 4th of July parade in Bristol. They recount wartime fears, German and Russian occupations, separation from family, and the abundance and freedom they now enjoy in America. Mrs Canario, from Ukraine, recalls hunger, labor camps, and religious freedom as decisive contrasts to life under occupiers.
