Bristol Rhode Island Plans July 5 1915 Independence Parade
The Bristol committee announces the 139th Independence Celebration for July 5 1915 in Bristol Rhode Island. A 6 a.m. national salute and church chimes start the day followed by a 10 a.m. grand Military and Civic Parade with six divisions and a governor’s carriage. The lineup includes naval bands, U.S. Marines, Rhode Island Boy Scouts, local militias, and a Governor’s staff escort.

The Colt Memorial High School Class of 1915 held graduation in the school auditorium on Wednesday evening with 30 graduates, 17 girls, the largest class to date. Leroy Staples, Warren superintendent, gave the address, urging graduates to do their best and seek balanced wealth. The event featured the Lafayette Orchestra, a class banner presented by Edward Garvin, and a reception for graduates and patrons with music and refreshments. many invitations exceeded seating, denying late arrivals.

Santa Maria Replica Arrives in Bristol Public View
The Santa Maria, an exact reproduction of Columbus flagship, arrives in Bristol and will be open to the public on the Church street wharf all day Saturday Sunday and Monday. Built in Cadiz in 1892, it was shown at the 1893 World's Fair and later toured Chicago. The 94 foot vessel features three masts and period costumes and relics.
