The Rhode Island Press Club undertook its first group flight, touring RIANG facilities at Hillsgrove and viewing jets from Otis Field. Major Lindley and Major Magowan piloted the C-47 while 18 members enjoyed the airborne excursion between North Central State and Westerly Airports, circling Block Island before returning.

July 3 events include ship anchorage at noon, receptions, a state airport arrival, band concerts, boxing at Reynolds School, a block dance, and a late dance at the Yacht Club plus a midnight bonfire. July 4 features church bells, patriotic exercises with Korean ambassador speaker, a Reynolds School parade, a National Guard artillery salute, a flyover, veteran firemen muster, antique parade, band concert, aerial fireworks, and church-route processions from Reynolds School along High Hope Franklin and back.
