Pageant and Fireworks Celebrate Independence Day in Bristol

The 1904 Fourth of July event features a full military and veterans procession led by Col. Barrett with divisions from Newport Providence East Providence Bristol and a naval battalion. The Seventh Band Artillery Corps conducts a long concert program on the common followed by a firework display. A baseball game Bristols vs Attleboro Athletic Club occurs during the day with a second concert and more displays in the evening. The Town Council approves taxes and a card index purchase and fireworks sales permit. An advertising medical notice for Kodol Dyspepsia Cure appears at the end.

Fourth Division Parade Honors St Marys Fife and Drum Band

The Fourth Division marshal leads a 20 piece St Marys Fife and Drum Band under Thomas Leahy. The procession travels from State to Church to High to Walley to Hope to Town Bridge then to Franklin, High to Bradford to the Opera House. Exercises include music by Kellar, a reading of the Declaration by Isaac Warren Gorham, a trombone solo by Miss L M Wilson, an oration by Rev John F Downing, and a Benediction by Rev Alfred S Stowell.
