Twenty Scouts Named to Lead Town on Citizenship Day
Four local Boy Scout troops selected twenty Scouts to act as town officials on Citizenship Day February 9 during Boy Scout Week. Names were submitted at Awashonki Herd P.O.W.S. with a caucus to assign roles such as President Town Clerk and Fire Chief. Scouts will be coached by Scoutmaster George R. Fish to manage town affairs on the federal holiday.

Bristol Nursing Association Receives Kickback From Subscription Tickets
The Bristol District Nursing Association will receive ten percent of proceeds from subscription tickets sold by the Bristol Train of Artillery Entertainment Association. Dr Alfred M Merriman says the association may donate more if expenses are met, funding open air concerts by the Ambers Band in summer. The gift continues a past charity pattern with the largest prior contribution of 420 dollars to the Bristol Rotary Club in 1932 for food for undernourished children. Subscribers gain high calibre entertainment and support nursing work including tuberculosis care and clinics.

Funeral services for Mo Hawk disaster victim
Funeral services were held for Julius Palmer 22 at Central Baptist Church Providence after he was drowned when the Ward Line steamship Mohawk sank off the New Jersey coast. Burial was in Swan Point Cemetery. Survivors include his parents four sisters and a brother. Memorial services for a Williams College professor and three students will be held Feb 17.
