Burndside Building eyed for town offices move
Town officials discussed adding space by moving offices to the Burnside Building instead of buying the former telephone exchange. Stevenson of the RI Public Expenditures Council suggested the phone building offers less space overall but could be used more efficiently. The plan would relocate clerk treasurer and assessors to the phone building, with Civil Defense in the basement and Public Aid moving to Burnside, freeing space for police. About 14000 dollars has been set for records vaults, and the planning board was asked to study the idea.
