St Elizabeth's Church purchased Columbia Hall Wood Street for 8000 dollars from Don Luis Filipe Society owners. The sale was approved unanimously by the fire society which also voted to buy Lincoln Hall Usher Avenue from Recordacoes da Patras Club. Columbia Hall, built in 1897, was a long standing gathering place for Portuguese residents. The church will use the hall for social and educational activities including Boy Scouts meetings and summer school classes run by the Dorosy Sisters.
