Dental Society Sponsors Essay Contest for Bristol County Students
The Bristol County Dental Society announced a third annual dental health essay contest for Bristol County school students in honor of Children's Dental Health Week February 5 to 11. Essays must be 100 words or less on dental topics with emphasis on originality neatness and grammar. Winners in three grade bands will have their schools receive prizes and will be acknowledged at a February 7 6:30 p.m. dinner at the Midway.

Richard Sign, 21, a Newport sailor stationed in Newport, was fined $25 and costs after pleading guilty to operating a motor vehicle recklessly on Metacom Avenue. An accident occurred at Metacom and Griswold yesterday morning. Civil docket items include tax collector Alfred N. Nunes vs Alice G. Jones of Warren and John Morris of 52 Wall Street, both continued to January 23.
