Public School Board Plans National Teacher Exams
Bristol Public Schools will again require National Teacher Examination records for Si r positions this year. The meeting discussed exam dates set for March 14 and 15 1941 and noted that new applicants pay the exam fee while retaking candidates pay 7.50. The board also considered a WPA School Lunch Project pending principal approval and praised WPA painters for interior redecorations at Reynolds Valley and Byfield Schools. Attendance yesterday stood at 85 percent amid a grippe outbreak with 304 absences among 2023 pupils.

Bristol women who have solicited for the Cancer Control Fund are invited to a luncheon Friday January 24 at the Hotel Biltmore at one o clock. Lena Madesin Phillips will speak and discuss Women’s Field Army work. Mrs John W. Haley named Mrs Albert H Flint Jr captain for April fundraising. Last year Bristol raised nearly 500 dollars. Rhode Island State Guard seeks two volunteers to complete a 50 member quota for Company G in a January 29 induction into the 1st Regiment. Fingerprint system identifies murder suspect in local case
Police confirm Daniel Hugh Quin's October 31 murder in this town. Warzacki, alias Arthur Floodman, named by fingerprints after two and a half months search. He was jailed in Modesto California for petty larceny awaiting extradition to this state.
