Pair Seriously Injured When Struck By Auto

Miss Anna Martinez and Thomas Majorano of this town were seriously injured Friday evening about 10 30 when struck by an auto driven by Mrs Annie G Staples of 276 Wellington Avenue Austria They were walking across Hope Street opposite Martinez home Both suffered severe facial lacerations and dental injuries with multiple stitches and bruises Majorano also sprained a elbow and leg muscles The driver claimed she did not see them until too late and was released pending further investigation Passengers included Fred A Burt Mrs Gertrude Houghtaling Mrs Bessie Boyle and Mrs Florence Mason

Brotherhood To Present Annual Minstrel Show

The St Michael's Brotherhood hosts its fourth annual minstrel show on January 23 and 24 in the parish house. Directed by Fred G Dietz the program features new acts including an eight person chorus led by Audrey Munro with singing and dancing, dances by Theoda Bennett, bagpipe selections by Jerry MacGurken, and a harmonica duet by Pat Sanford and Charles McGrath. Rev Anthony A Parshley serves as interlocutor as the six ends and 20 man chorus perform.

Adjudged Probably Guilty Bound Over To Grand Jury

Barry 30 of 53 Charles street Bristol was adjudged probably guilty of breaking and entering a United States Rubber Company building and stealing wire. He was bound over to the grand jury with bail continued at 2000 dollars after a lengthy Fifth District Court hearing. Witnesses described a late evening confrontation as Barry fled the factory.

Bandits Remain At Large After Jones Pharmacy Robbery

Three men bound and gagged a clerk and customer at Jones Pharmacy on Wood Street last Friday, stealing $50 and merchandise. A Massachusetts-registered car seen nearby led to a police sweep, but no arrests yet. Victims were Henry Sims and Frank P Silvia. a diamond ring and a gold watch were not taken.
