Fire officials urge residents to keep hydrants ice free as storms stack up. Fire Commissioner F J Murphy announced a joint effort with Bristol County Water Company manager F P Stradling for a man to man cleanup program, with homeowners urged to clear around the hydrant nearest their property for quick access in emergencies.
Joseph A. Oxley will address the Co Mar Co in the Guiteras House Sunday January 18 at 8 p m on The Work of the FBI The Missionary Society of the First Congregational Church meets January 21 in the Guiteras House. Dr Eugene LeClair of West Richfield Ohio is at a Cleveland hospital for major surgery and visited Bristol last summer.
Bristol officials report the February school committee meeting opened at 8 o clock in the Colt High School library. Genhifer Arouca two year old, daughter of Mr and Mrs Joseph ArÉuea, is said to be recovering well at Charles W Chapin Hospital. St Marys Social Club scheduled a banquet for Thursday Jan 22 at 7 30 pm at White Rail Riding Club with Joseph Pereira as chairman and Augustine Nerone Adolph Ferreira Estelle Vona Mary Rebello Mary Botehlo on the arrangements committee.
The R I Hunters League will hold its first annual banquet on Saturday January 24 1948 at 7 pm at Masonic Temple Taunton Avenue East Providence. Invited guests include Governor John O Pastore Dr Raymond G Bressler Edward C Hayes and Judge Luigi De Pasquale. The league will donate prizes for returning pheasant band identifications and a wildlife rehabilitation program will be proposed by secretary JJ Bernard.
