Acme Club Skates Trigger Boyhood Dilemma and Skillcraft
In Bristol during the 1870s a ten year old recalls choosing birthday gifts over Christmas, receiving Acme Club skates that sparked pride and mischief. He narrates stealing a moment to try them, marred by fingerprints, and a playful rescue by local artisans Fred Bishop and Dr Gallup who helped restore the blades, while noting the later moves of families and the lasting impact on Bristol’s skilled youths.
