Metacom Debating Club Members Remember Bristol Youth
Hushed reminiscence recalls the Metacom Debating Club formed by young Bristol men including Augustine Nerone Frederic Gladding and Raymond Pierce. Members valued literature history and the arts and many pursued public speaking and debates. David Manny and Frederick Pierce died young from a fatal disease, while Augustine Pierone remained a paragon of Christian conduct. The author notes being among the sole surviving founders now past Bristol memories.
