Children’s Home seeks steady yearly donations to cover costs

The Phoenix reports a 600 dollar annual fundraising effort by committee members Mrs. Wallace E. Howe Mrs. W. G. Low and Miss Julia C. Drury as last year’s group mobilizes again to raise funds for the Children’s Home. The town provides 500 dollars yearly and interest plus small board payments fill the gap for seventeen children and staff salaries.

visit of Miss Norris to St Michael's Girls Society

Miss Norris hosted about thirty at her Hope Street home last Monday evening for a vivid account of Versailles with photographs and a print of Marie Antoinette. The display included Antwerp and Bruges scenes now affected by war and decorative daffodil and fern table settings. Supper followed at ten as guests, including Mrs Adams Mrs Brigham Mrs Bache Miss Warren and the Rev Howard, enjoyed the event.
