In the YMCA gym last night the National India Rubber Company five beat the Naval Torpedo Station quintet 21 to 14 in a fast clean contest. Moore and Goodrich sparked the Rubber with three baskets each, while Higbee and Murphy anchored defense and Reynolds starred for Newport. Time was 20 minute halves with Carrier refereeing.

Four Men Arrested in New Bedford Robbery Ring
Four men including three Vanesse brothers were arrested Tuesday night in New Bedford on breaking and entering and larceny charges. They confessed to recent robberies in Southern Massachusetts and Rhode Island. A car linked to the thefts was seized with twelve bullet holes. Walter Fowler of New Bedford faced accessory and receiving charges. All pled not guilty and were held on $3000 bail pending trial.

National India Rubber to Extend Operations Five Days a Week
The National India Rubber Company announces it will keep the Otel plant running five days a week for the next two weeks with about 3000 workers. The Shoe Dusten plant will close indefinitely on January 28 to clear ongoing orders, and a February 26 management reveal will outline future plans.
