County Scholarships Groups Lead by Doctor's Dream Realized
The Citizens Scholarship Foundation began in Fall River after Dr Irving A Fradkin promoted college aid for worthy youths. Since 1958 the program expanded to Barrington Bristol Warren and spread to about 50 communities, funded by door to door canvassing and local groups. Barrington alone reports 19 beneficiaries this year with $3,906 raised. Bristol started in 1960 with multiple scholarships and town support.
