Sturdevant Sunshine Society Elects Officers
Mrs ae G Sturdevant was reelected president of the International Sunshine Society at the annual officers meeting held Tuesday afternoon at 1 30 pm at the District Nursing Headquarters. Other officers reelected for 1963 include Mrs Jos DuPont vice president Mrs James Bertind secretary and Mrs Ralph Kinder treasurer. Members listed include T Be Balzano Mrs Louis Bell Ytegard and several others. The secretary reported that eight meetings in 1962 produced nearly 2 000 cancer dressings, with some donated to nursing homes and cancer patients. The society contributed to the Cancer Fund memory of deceased members, Braille Fund, and DaPonte Children’s The Sunshine Society maintains weekly milk and eggs for needy families and provides medicines funding. Five hundred plus eyeglasses were collected for Eyes For The Needy in New Jersey and flowers sent to island bereavement. Attendance at annual functions and Christmas activities noted. A Dutch Treat Christmas Party was held at the Colony Hotel in Providence.
