Hospital Corpsman Second Class Francis S. Connery 27 of 26 Garfield Ave received the Bronze Star Medal for heroic acts during a September 20 1951 assault in Korea while aiding wounded under heavy fire. Beginning September 1952 the minimum age is five years six months, rising to five years nine months by September 1953.
