Bristol cast shines in Our Boys benefit theater show

The three act comedy Our Boys played at Bristol Opera House for Y M C A benefit. A large crowd filled the first floor and balcony as Mrs H A Cabot and Mrs A M Merriman directed with strong acting, makeup and stagecraft. Highlights included Merriman as Perkyn Middlewick and Hayes as Talbot Champneys with strong supporting turns by Burbank Rockwell Waldron Round, and Wardwell. The Merreshoff Marine Band provided music and net proceeds reached about 140 dollars.

Bristol Veteran Firemen's Assn Elects Officers

Adjourned annual meeting of the Bristol Veteran Firemen's Association elected J Howard Manchester as president and named officers including J Wanthrop DeWolf and Herbert F Bennett. Manchester, longtime Bristol fireman, previously led King Philip Engine Co and served as chief engineer in 1880-81.
