Missileman Diary From a Two-Area Barracks
The narrative describes division into two areas for missile crews living in shared barracks amid heavy snow. It notes chow runs between launcher and mess areas, a sense of responsibility over entertainment, and puppies as mascots. The first 1957 Missileman is Private First Class David W Peart, assembly sergeant, a Warren resident with Idaho roots, WW II and Korean War service, and pipe collecting hobby.
