Bristol Boy Receives Major Musical Engagement
Ellsworth LeB Munro known as Teets of Thompson Avenue has signed with McEnally's Band and Orchestra of Springfield Mass to begin on Monday January 20. A recognized cornetist since childhood he won a Boy Scouts bugle prize at age 11 and has played with bands across the state. The Springfield group holds yearly bookings at Cook's Ballroom and also works in radio and Victor recordings.

East Bristol Town Council Signs For Improved East Roads
At Tuesday's Town Council meeting a petition from eastern residents urged passable streets and highways where sewers have been laid. The council also backed the 250th Bristol anniversary celebration committee and zoned the town. Seventeen signers supported improved roads in the sewered section and contracts were discussed to require future sewer contractors to repair highways. Additional actions included accepting a burial fund and inviting attendance to local military and women’s relief events, reelecting town wardens, approving motion picture fundraisers, athletic events, and gasoline tank installations, with reports from departments read and filed.
