Joseph Soares of 1 Bay View Avenue was shot in the left hip about 11:50 PM and admitted to Rhode Island Hospital. Albert D. Lollo of 377 High Street alleged he fired after noticing a stranger in his yard. Lollo was arrested on a charge of assault with a dangerous weapon and remanded to jail. Bail set at 100 dollars. Soares not in danger, per hospital.
