Christmas Plays At St Michael and First Baptist Church
St Michael's Sunday School held its annual Christmas tree exercises in the chapel on Wednesday evening featuring a play titled A Trial at Headquarters with Santa Claus played by Herbert R. Newman and other roles. Gifts of cake candy and fruit were distributed. Rev Anson B. Howard gave an address and Walter Wennerstrand chaired the arrangements. The First Baptist Church school also presented Christmas activities in the vestry including The Christmas Strike with participants Marjorie Southwick Charlotte Stoughton Evelyn Bingham Muriel Bullock Dorothy Adams and others. Rev Francis R. Enslin led prayers and Santa Claus distributed gifts with Col Arthur W. Barrett impersonating Santa.

Appointed Consul Ferreira Martins to Bristol
Ferreira Martins, now residing at 411 High Street with Mrs Martins, has been named Portuguese Consul of Bristol by the Foreign Legation in Washington. A reception and banquet are being planned by a committee led by Dr Xavier De Valez to honor the consul and his wife, with invitations extended to state and town officials, clergymen, and other dignitaries.
Resigns Position at National India Rubber Company
Col Andrew W. Anthony resigns after 12 years as manager of stores and purchasing at the National India Rubber Company factory. Walter S Greenup, with 17 years at the firm, becomes successor. Anthony plans to enter personal business in Boston and will keep his summer home here.

Bristol Boy Scouts Bazaar Opens Tomorrow Night
The Bristol Troops of the Boy Scouts of America host a bazaar at G A R Hall starting 8 o clock tomorrow. Scouts meet at the Scout building at 7 30 then march to the hall for opening ceremonies. Dancing music by the Peppy Jazz Boys and a New Year Frolic are planned with a prize winning merit badge booth from the Eastern States Exposition as a setting for the orchestra. Proceeds support the local summer camp fund.
