All Bristol Concert Tonight on WJAR Promises Local Talent

Radio program Tonight at 7 o clock features an All Bristol concert assembled by Charles M Morgan tenor soloist from St Michael Church. The Outlet Company arranged a New Year program with Bristol musicians including Pardon R Kenney and Vernon Gray. Bristol Community Chorus and Radio Quartet perform selections, with Bertram W Wall giving an address and other musicians providing piano, cello, guitar, and vocal solos.

Mercantile Division Holds Meeting in Hope Street Store

The Mercantile Division of the Bristol Chamber of Commerce met Friday forenoon in William M. Connery’s clothing store on Hope Street. A committee including Connery Kunz and Johnston was tasked to nominate officers for the next year. Regular meetings will be the first Monday of each month at 8 o'clock in Taylor's Shoe Store at the Y M C A building. A committee including Johnston Makowsky and Edmonds will confer with Narragansett Electric Lighting officials on changes aimed at better service for the town.

Fifth District Court Docket Shows Two Cases Continued

In the weekly Fifth District Court session Judge Hammill disposed cases. Hugh F. Kelley sue Frank Fojo for violent assault on Veara and Bettencourt on November 28 on Third Street was continued two weeks. Kelley also faced Arcenzo Ferreira for leaving an accident scene on Christmas Day. he pled not guilty and the case continued one week. Manuel Santo versus W Frazier and Charles Torey civil actions remained unanswered and delayed one week.

Bristol Town Team Mounts Win Over North Attleboro

Bristol defeat North Attleboro at the Naval Armory 48 to 31 as Tinkoff and Bisbane each score eight baskets in a showcase of swift passing and fast breaks. Barley LeVitan’s junior squad also beat the Rovers 18 to 8 before the main game, with Bristol set to travel to North Attleboro for a return match and to South Kingston for Rhode Island series opener.

Bristol Town Team Prepares for Clinton Basket Ball Club Visit

The Bristol Town Team hosts Clinton Basket Ball Club of Clinton Massachusetts at the Naval Armory this Friday evening. Clinton leads the Central Massachusetts league with one loss to Fitchburg 28 to 23 and has defeated Turners of Springfield Parkwoods of Springfield Joyce Bros of Lynn. Clinton’s lineup includes P Wattes W Braunhardt Baer F Wattes Dietel T Braunhardt. Bristol counters with Tinkoff Bisbane Ghow Cogge Drummey Geisler and Flanagan. A preliminary game precedes the main event.

Pleasing Musicale at Miss Mali Fronte’s Home

A friendly musicale was held Sunday evening at 7 30 by piano and vocal students under Miss Louise D Malfronte. Performers included Icoletta Del Toro Grace Besignano Rose Alfano Theresa Ferrara and others with violinist Claudia DeWolf and pianist Margaret Morrissey providing accompaniment. A trio led by Fred M Straight featured main selections and refreshments followed.

Kearney Post 6 to Install Officers in January Meeting

The American Legion Kearney Post 6 will hold its regular monthly meeting Friday at 8 oclock in G A R Hall. Wall and Department staff will install the newly elected officers, with First Department President Edna Dave of East Providence set to install the Kearney Unit officers. A joint American Legion Aux installation will follow.
