Youth Charged With Assault Released on Bail
Steven B. Johnson 19 of Rumford faced arraignment in the Fifth District Court on a charge of violent assault against referee Sidney F. MacKay at a basketball game in Andrews gym. Bail set at 1000 dollars, Johnson pleaded not guilty and was jailed overnight at Bristol County Jail. MacKay, a veteran official, suffered dental injuries and facial cuts. school doctor C Paul Bruno treated him. Court set March 13 for a regular session.
