More than 75 men representing 20 organizations gathered at Rockwell Hall for the second get together supper in the YMCA series. A meat pie supper was served at 6 30 pm by civic women led by Mrs Colin T Holm. Cyrus S Ching and Ernest M Beck from the U S Rubber Co New York visited the National India Rubber Co factory in town on Wednesday afternoon They presented two reels titled Hindsighte and Foresight highlighting dangers of careless work and the care of workers A later talk for foremen and department heads followed with more film showings Refreshments were served.
The Boy Scout Charity Commission will stage a moving picture benefit at the Pastime Theatre Sunday at 8 PM. This is the commission's second fundraiser to aid charity work. The group handles many charity cases through the local scouts with discretion and thorough investigation to support only worthy cases, relying on public cooperation.
Sunday afternoon at the Jefferson street armory Warren hosts the last Assumption Club of Providence a team with a two year only two defeats record. Star players Enright Benedict Conway Gormley Reilly and Bailey loom for Providence as Patsy Flanagan relies on his regular lineup to secure the verdict.

Three year old James Santos of 5 East State Street died after a bedroom fire started when he played with celluloid film and an electric switch. Firefighters subdued the blaze on the second floor while rescue efforts shifted him to Rhode Island Hospital, where he died hours later. Authorities note the switch may have ignited the film. parents say matches were out of reach.
Barrington High School defeated the Colt Memorial five on the YMCA court in a close 14 to 13 battle. The fast defensive game drew praise for both teams with Referee Sullivan and Warren High coach receiving compliments for calls. A return game with Barrington is being planned and Warren and Bristol teams will face off soon in Warren.
Rev M S Welsh of Providence College preached at St Mary's Church on Tuesday evening. Rev Ralph Bray of St Mark's Riverside delivered the Lenten sermon in St Michael's chapel on Wednesday and spoke at Trinity Church mission service. Fr Vieira of St Elizabeth's preached Wednesday, and St Michael's chapel observed St Matthias feast at 9 am. Lenten devotions set for 7:30 pm in three Roman Catholic churches.
The 68th annual session of the Grand Encampment of the Independent Order of Odd Fellows Rhode Island will convene in Odd Fellows Hall next Wednesday at 10 am with fifteen encampments represented. Grand Patriarch Robert G Busby of Providence will preside and officers for the year plus committees will be elected and appointed. Reports from leaders and chairmen will be delivered, followed by a luncheon served by the Wampanoag Encampment No. 9 social committee in the banquet hall.
