Talks on Immigration First in Six Series on American Womanhood
The first of six familiar talks on American Womanhood under the Federation of Women's Clubs was held Tuesday at 4 PM in Colt Memorial High School auditorium. Mrs. Dexter Thurber chaired. Miss Bessie E. Bloom discussed Immigrant Mothers Present. Mrs. William W. Moss spoke on Immigrant Mothers Past and read diary excerpts from Mrs. John Lewis. The audience enjoyed tea served by the committee and Camp Fire Girls.

Erysipelas Causes Death of Cavallaro in Fracas
The funeral of Giuseppe Cavallaro followed his death at Rhode Island Hospital after a minor eye cut in a Bradford Wood streets fracas. Autopsy by Dr. Griffin found the eyelid injury led to erysipelas, prompting police to consider a coroner's inquest. Lug Casentino pleaded guilty to a vandalism charge and paid a fine, then fled town. Cavallaro died February 15 after the incident.

Woman's Tears Save Dog From Euthanasia
Benjamin S. Lindley, boat builder, was bitten on the leg and sought to have a dog shot. The dog's owner pleaded for mercy, shedding tears as she described the pet's good qualities. Lindley, wounded, chose not to destroy the animal after the appeal.

State Flags Presented to Ten School Rooms in Byfield
Bristol Chapter Daughters of the American Revolution presented 3 by 5 foot State flags to ten school rooms in the Byfield building on a Wednesday afternoon. The presentation committee included Miss Anna B Manchester ex officio, Miss Lillia R Farrington chair, Mrs Charles H Church and Mrs Samuel D Wardwell. Regents and committee members spoke and the flags were saluted by the children. The chapter plans to give State flags to every town school room.
