Medals and Bars Presented to Bristol Train of Artillery

The Bristol Train of Artillery held an awards evening at the State street armory to honor the year 1915 rifle range records. Judge O L Bosworth presented expert, sharp shooter, and marksman bars and three donor badges. About 150 members and guests attended the event with speeches stressing preparedness and duty.

General Secretary Milligan announces a public meeting next Sunday at the Y M C A building for all interested men to form a male chorus. Mr Carter of Providence will attend to share coaching experience and advise on organizing the group. All serious participants are invited.

Town Council meeting sets town budget and staff fixed

A special Town Council meeting last evening approved recommendations for the upcoming town budget and kept moderator and clerk salaries at last year’s levels. Republican supervisors were elected in both districts and Democratic supervisors were named for both districts. The annual Engineers report was received and filed as the council adjourned after a 5 to 8 session.

Brown University brings Norman Taber great mile runner and R H McLaughlin star football player to speak at a gala Thursday night at the Y M C A for Warren and Barrington high school students. Brown Quartet performs and D T Gallison performs sleight of hand.

Baby Week Pictures Opens Campaign With Film Shows

The Baby Week committee led by Mrs Merriman will start the campaign on Saturday March 4 with moving pictures at the Pastime Theatre. Manager Charles Dillon lends the venue and Mrs Dexter Thurber handles the program of baby welfare films. Showings are at 2 30 and 4 30 with a ten cent admission to cover expenses.

Drop In Temperature Brings Deep Winter Cold to Bristol

The coldest winter spell in Bristol lasts three days with morning readings 4 to 6 below zero. Blithewold's thermometer stood at 40 above zero, while Saturday forenoon drops ranged from 24 to 11 degrees. Ice men harvest at Collins pond Narrows and Reynolds pond with 9 to 10 inch thickness.
