Bristol Tercentenary Ball Set At State Armory Tonight

Bristol will host the Washington Ball of the Bristol Train of Artillery at the State Armory to mark Rhode Island’s Tercentenary. About 300 guests including Warren and Barrington residents are expected as Gov. Green and State leaders attend in formal dress. The transformed drill shed will display National colors with a grand march at 11 and a reception by Col. Merriman and Mrs Merriman.

Colt Memorial Upsets Warren in Close Conference Clash

Colt Memorial High School defeated Warren 24 to 22 in a hard fought Class C conference game. Bristol previously trailed after a lacing by rivals but redeemed with a late rally as four players fouled out. Referee Carl Merrit oversaw four eight minute quarters in front of a crowded gym.

Bristol council debates 1936 budget study and WPA project status

Town Council renewed the 1936 37 budget study in a two hour closed session and will meet with the budget commission next Tuesday to review items before presenting a final plan to taxpayers. Officials discussed Fire Engine repairs, district appointments, and requests for $1000 and $500 for Fourth of July and Armistice Day events.

Hope Circle Plans Activities and Surgical Class

Youth Stars Lead St Marys Minstrel Show

Veterans may handle main roles but a galaxy of youthful stars will appear in the St Marys minstrel to be screened.
