The 74th annual Washington Ball will be held in the Belvedere Hotel sun parlor next Wednesday evening under Bristol Train of Artillery auspices. Invites have been received from out of town guests, prominent military and social figures, and local residents. Lieutenant Governor Harold J Gross will represent Rhode Island and read the grand march. Advance ticket sales exceed previous years with expectations of a large attendance. The program includes both old fashioned and traditional dances.

Scouts Parents Night Impresses at Artillery Armory
A large turnout of relatives and friends attended Parents Night for Boy Scout troops 1 and 2 at Artillery Armory Tuesday. The program featured opening exercises, kerchief and mimic drills, life saving demonstrations, and a competitive infantry drill judged by Col Merton A Cheesman Capt F M Straght and Dr W F Williams, with no winner named as both troops earned high praise. Three candidates were invested as tenderfoot scouts.
