School Committee endorses four year high school plan
Five members at Tuesday night’s meeting backed a four year senior high school instead of seeking a $300000 increase for the junior senior high project. Absent was Dr John O Squillante. Educational advisor William B Black outlined options within a $2.5 million budget, noting an $800000 extra may be required to complete the school and cautioning that a $300000 request includes a $100000 contingency fund. Superintendent Edward J Fitzgerald asked if costs rose ten percent in two years and warned bids before town approval could raise total costs.
