Second Night Bristol Rotarians Bring Old Fashioned Show

The Second Night Bristol Rotarians staged an Old Fashioned Minatres Show at the Guités School auditorium drawing a full house. Theresa Donovan led the act with Emma and Ee Rounds at piano and organ plus Meiggs and Sons handling stage setup. Proceeds benefit Rotary welfare funds.

Budget Hearings Slated By Town Council

The town council has announced its schedule for budget hearings with department representatives present. Schools meet February 11 at 7:36 p.m. Public Works follows February 17 at 7:30 p.m. Burnside Memorial Budget ing is noted in the schedule.

Surprise party honors longtime schools chief Fitzgerald

Edward J. Fitzgerald, superintendent of schools, was honored at a surprise White Rail party attended by about fifty lettermen he coached from 1929 to 1998. Dr. Anthony J. Ramos served as toastmaster and Ian M. Walker spoke as a former associate and current junior high principal in Somerset Massachusetts. Vernon Otten received credit for traveling the farthest distance from Peabody Massachusetts.

Kearney Post Reaches 1959 Membership Goal

Kearney Post No. 6 American Legion tops its 1959 target by bringing membership to 252, twelve over the 240 quota, at a Friday meeting in the post home. District Two officers and Hydraulion Engine and Hose Company guests toured, with William Adams and Forest Brown leading. The group plans 40th anniversary observances for the Legion and the post, plus a memorial service for past leaders.
