Fire Hose Bids Spark Public Comment and Questions
William Hodgkinson voiced objections to the fire hose purchase explaining he bid on the best grade from the O O O Fire Hose Co at 65 cents a foot while praising a rival from the Voraelinga Callahan Co at 85 cents. He questioned how Bristol orders were obtained and noted wax treated hose is inferior and that a 600 pound five year guarantee is meaningless.
