NEW BOAT SHOP AT HEAD OF BRISTOL HARBOR

Sanford and Goddard boat builders plan a new wood shop 30 by 70 feet 200 feet south of their present 24 by 40 foot facility. Construction starts when weather moderates. Leonard Sanford and John Goddard, formerly with Herreshoff, expanded the business in 1907 and 1908. A 38 foot power launch for Mark T. Vincent of New Bedford is nearing completion with a 26 horsepower engine designed by William H. Hand. An order for a second power launch, 40 feet long and 65 horsepower, was placed last week with the same designer. In fall, 40 boats were stored for winter on the marine railway, with more added annually.
