Civil War Veteran Dies After Heart Attacks At Soldiers Home

An 85 year old Civil War veteran from Providence, known as Mr Byron, died at the local Soldiers Home after two heart attacks within a day. He boarded in Providence and was taken to the Bristol institution where he collapsed en route to hospital. Funeral services were held in Fall River.

Pig dispute lands two Bristol men in Fifth District Court

A Bristol pig dispute led to a Fifth District Court appearance for Joseph Lima 32 owner of Fox Hill Avenue and Marino Serpa 53 of DeWolf Avenue. Lima was charged with assault but the case was discontinued after both sides agreed and court costs were paid. Other matters included continuances for shellfish theft cases and a six month continuance for Vincenzo Cuiccio on a disorder arrest. Civil dockets included Callan vs Jackson and two company cases continued.
