Semi monthly meetings of Kearney Post No 6 American Legion and Auxiliary were held in Legion Hall. Charles R. Johnson spoke on the membership drive and one new member was admitted. Committees were named for social entertainment athletic arrangements and a $5 donation to Vermont flood sufferers. Spaghetti supper plans were announced with a menu and volunteers named.

In Bristol records Judge Frank H. Hammill continued the case of the State versus Manuel Botelho for one week due to counsel finessing. Botelho faces a cruelty to a dog charge and will be tried next Monday. if his attorney is unavailable he must find another. Botelho was arrested December fifteenth for shooting a neighbor's dog and has prior similar appearances. The Bristol Shoe Company versus Mrs Morris was also continued by agreement. At a Sunday session William Morris pleaded guilty to smashing a window at the near beer saloon and to drunkenness, receiving a twenty dollar fine plus costs for defacement and two dollars plus costs for drunkenness. Judge Hammill warned of possible jail if brought before the court again. Manuel Maderras, Morris's companion, pleaded guilty to drunkenness and was fined two dollars plus costs.

Aram Jules Pothier, seven time Rhode Island governor, died at his Woonsocket winter home after a Friday night shock and brief unconsciousness. He passed away about 7 50 p m Saturday night in his 74th year with family present and doctors in attendance.

Governor Jules Pothier died in Woonsocket after a Friday night collapse. Robbery at Rockwell Home Steals Silverware
False key workers broke into the home of Mr and Mrs Charles B Rockwell Jr at 41 High Street and stole silverware valued near 1000 dollars. Items included a Georgian tea set 750, two pepper cellars 150, a Sheffield tankard 60, a shell dish 25, plus an overcoat marked Rogers Peet Company New York.
