A St Michael's Picnic Remembered From Enchantment

A seventy year old reminiscence recalls a St Michael's Sunday School Picnic at Mount Hope in Enchantment. The author describes a clear summer day, the harbor breeze, the post office hubbub, and a large congregation of families plus the notable DeWolf and Perry clans. A boys race to the Indian council stones ends in tragedy when Nelly Minsher faints and Will Trotter dies soon after, prompting a funeral sermon at St Michael's and the end of the school picnics era.
