Sunbonnet Girl Operetta Presented by Class of 1941

The Class of 1941 presents The Sunbonnet Girl a three act operetta at the Memorial auditorium on Thursday and Friday nights rehearsed by Mrs M Theresa Donovan with Louise De Luca in the lead as Susan Clifton. The cast includes Harold Sylvester Arnold Waite Barbara Almeida and Lucy Del Piano with a large village ensemble and local officials. The plot centers on Sue seeking a chance at a scholarship contest and a future match with Bob Coleman as a deed to a Los Angeles town lot resolves the barrier to love.

Myers And Halloran At Football Testimonial

Denny Myers and Bill Halloran will speak at a football dinner honoring Colt team members who won the 1940 Class C title. Fans in Bristol rushed to buy tickets as Vers from Brown University and Halloran, a college game referee, join the program. Bristol Residents Attend Rhode Island Garden Club Lectures

Many from Bristol plan to attend the first lecture in a series by the Rhode Island Federation of Garden Clubs on Thursday evening at the Rhode Island School of Design. The talks cover garden designs and planning home grounds with Mrs. William W. Perry of the Bristol Garden Club and Mrs. Charles M. Connery of the Countryside Garden Club overseeing local ticket sales.

St Blades Day Observed Across Bristol Churches

Parishioners at St Marys Our Lady of Mt Carmel and St Elizabeth observed St Blades Day with throat blessings conducted at 7 30 am at St Marys and 7 o clock at the other churches. Children received blessings at St Elizabeths at 3 pm with the others following at 3 30 pm. The perpetual novena at St Marys continues at 7 30 tonight.

Hope Circle To Mark Anniversary

Daughters of Isabella Hope Circle inaugurated plans for its 24th anniversary banquet with details to be announced. A Valentine whist party is set for February 17 at the K of C Hall with a series of afternoon whists starting February 25 led by chairwoman Mrs Marie Vermette and a committee including Mesdames Connery Almeida Bailey Goulart Leclerc Beau regards Newbold and Miss Margaret Callan. A $6 donation was given to the Boy Scout drive.

Town Council to Review Drainage Plan for Rubber Co Site

The town will discuss drainage plans affecting the United States Rubber Company harbor outlet at Bradford Street tonight in the Burnside Memorial building. Collins and Aikman Corp. prepared a new drainage location for acceptance by town officials and the rubber company.

The Athletic Association of the Bristol Senior High School will sponsor a dance on February 2 in the Colt auditorium to aid the athletic fund.
