Fire Fighting at Bradford Noted as Ongoing Battle
Firefighting at Uncle Sam’s coal sheds in Bradford has been a constant effort for two months. About 650000 tons of Philadelphia coal worth $150000 filled two sheds with pockets at capacity, forcing manual dumping to free space. Night calls for workers on the reservation persist as crews drown fires with hydrants. Meanwhile the Mary E Barrett sails 8000 tons to Pensacola and four colliers Brutus Abarenda Ajax and Casar head from Rio Janeiro to Bradford to ease the coal load.
