National Commander Daniel J. Doherty of the American Legion visited Bristol en route from Newport to Providence. He rode in a legion color filled convoy to the Rhode Island Soldiers' Home, where he was greeted by Commandant Lawrence A. Mooney and Adjutant James T. Pierce.
