Town Officials Seek Site For Post Office Land Exchange

Bristol town officials press to swap the current post office site for a suitable federal building site near the business district. The move aims to free the Burnside Memorial building and allow municipal offices to move into the post office, restoring the Burnside structure as a memorial.

Rhode Island Group Backs Paralysis Fight

The Rhode Island Infants Paralysis Foundation endorsed the National Foundation for Infantile Paralysis program and voted to sponsor the Greater Providence Birthday Ball to promote the President's birthday celebration on January 30, 1939. Keith Morgan chaired the committee meeting on December 20. Dr Edward A MeLaughlin and Dr Edward Carroll co chair the celebration committee.

Two Cases Heard In District Court

Two cases were heard in Parth District Court yesterday with continuances granted until January 9. Clerk WooVaincent Sumpter at the session presided by QC Arthur Bullock heard defendants Hope Avenue resident Roth charged with defacing property and Joseph Pimental of Ryan Avenue charged with abandoning his wife Manon. Roth pleaded not guilty.

Local Christmas Party Delights Barrington Plant Audience

The Sixth annual Christmas party of the Lo S&S Ribber Products Association drew over 600 guests. Performances included Taura Voccia and Tackie McCant, a male quartet Manuel Vargas Jr Nicholas Proto Albert LeClere Anthony Pellora, a trumpet duet John and Robert Chelle, and string players Victor Andreozzi John Charlone. Funeral Services Held for Domingo Diaz

Funeral services for Domingo Diaz aged 19 were held at St Elizabeths Church with a solemn mass of requiem celebrated by Rev Henrique Rocha.
