The article traces Christmas origins from ancient solstice rites to early church practices, noting Diocletian, May and January observances, carols, Manger songs, and the spread of trees and feasts. It contrasts Scotland and English dissenters, Puritan abolition, and post restoration cheer, then cites US nationwide observance and well wishes. It ends with telephony in Naples explorations and lists of healthiest and unhealthiest cities worldwide.
