Jury Verdict For Defendants In Warren Injury Suit

In Bristol County Superior Court the jury returned a verdict for the defendant in the suit brought by the father of Antonio Morra over injuries from a defective sawing machine. The case Morra versus Viera was tried on December term with Judge Herbert L. Carpenter presiding. Jurors listed include foreman Thomas G. Henderson and members from Providence East Providence Cranston and Warren. The plaintiff sought 5000 dollars claiming the saw cracked and caused injuries to a 14 year old worker. Defense contended the boy looked away while feeding a sleeper and the blade broke. A motion for directed verdict was denied before the verdict found for the defendant.
